Sack For a Sack of Michael Vick
Volunteams.org and Spay & Neuter Kansas City Partner for “Sack for a Sack” of Michael Vick.
Kansas City, MO September 22nd, 2009,
On September 27th the Philadelphia Eagles host the return Kansas City Chiefs and along with them is also the return of Michael Vick to the NFL.
Volunteams.org, on behalf of Spay & Neuter Kansas City, will be hosting a Chiefs watch party at McFadden’s in the Power & Light District on September 27th at 12:00 noon to raise monetary and food donations to replenish their resources for their Pet Outreach Program. We are asking people in the community to pledge a sack of dog food to SNKC for every KC Chiefs tackle of Michael Vick. If Mr. Vick should go untouched, we ask those who pledge, that they commit to a pound of dog food for every KC Chiefs tackle.
Much has been written about Mr. Vick and his infamous deeds. Rather than look back, let’s think and act with the future in mind. Let’s use this as an opportunity to do something good for the community and send a message at the same time.
Every time the Kansas City Chiefs tackle Michael Vick, pledge to donate a sack of dog food to send a message on the importance of animals and their proper care. If Mr. Vick should go untouched, pledge to donate a pound of dog food for every tackle by the Kansas City Chiefs.

SNKC provides free and low-cost spay and neuter services to many thousands of pets and their families desperately trying to make ends meet. The dog/cat food pantry was set up to temporarily help these pet owners through troubled times.
“Spaying and Neutering is part of the solution but it is important that these pets remain in their homes versus being given up, or worse yet, euthanized, because their owner is unable to feed them.” States Michelle Dormady, President of Spay & Neuter Kansas City
“Word of mouth has spread and we are seeing more and more pet owners come to our clinic each day asking for help to feed their pets. Unfortunately we can barely keep food on the shelves and are in desperate need of food (or monetary) donations to replenish the resources in our pantry.” States Tamara Scharfenkamp, Director of Operations of Spay & Neuter Kansas City.
“Working with our flagship partner, Spay & Neuter Kansas City, we are excited to bring awareness to the tremendous work being done in the city to protect, help and support animals and their responsible owners” states Vince Vaughan, President Volunteams.org
